Bhudda Gate Monastery

Wow! What an experience of learning to find our inner self for our pack 996!  The Scouts, parents, and siblings got enlightened at the Buddha gate monastery in Lafayette today! A great turn out of over 70 people including Scouts and their families. Scouts experienced practicing meditation (including calm and insight), mindfulness, the cultivation of wisdom, loving-kindness and compassion. Most importantly they learned to be mindful of their food helpings, cherish the blessing of food, and not to waste even a single grain of rice. They learned to respect each other’s beliefs and culture.

The Scouts (girls and Cub scouts) collaboratively showed that they care for the environment and Mother Earth by weeding and collecting trash in and around their elementary school! Thank you the school admin for their support.
